Defence is the world’s largest asset evolving and innovating sector and at the intersection of defence and technology, there lies an opportunity for startups to make an extraordinary influence on the global economy.
Today's Defence technology (DefTech) startups are reinventing how we interact with the anti national forces that surrounds us. From providing solutions to CICT & contactless warfare, to electronic solutions, digital AI based methodologies, developers in DefTech are filling critical gaps to improve the way defence is envisaged.
On top of that, venture capital interest has been on the rise for DefTech in recent years, fuelling the potential for startups in the sector to build high-impact, world-class futuristic technologies.
Breaking new ground
Created in partnership with BSA Bharat, the HoS’s DefTech program is a specialized stream within the Incubator helping startups solving defence problems to fast-track their growth over the course of 12 months.
With access to customers, capital, coaching, and a community of industry experts and peers, startups receive the tools, resources and exposure needed to scale their teams and drive global impact through technology.
What we look for
The HoS's DefTech stream targets high-potential startups. Eligible companies should have:
- A tech-enabled product solving a compelling problem in the defence industry (DefTech)
- At least one full-time founder dedicated to the program, and one in-house technical lead
- An MVP that has some form of market validation
- The ability to become a venture-backable business in a growing market
- A driven, coachable and collaborative leadership team
BSAB

BSA Bharat has manufacturing facilities in India, and is run by highly experienced technocrats & scientists drawn from the country's top-rated institutions, PSUs, DPSUs, Government Ministries, DRDO, Armed Forces and Industry.
BSA Bharat works with State Police Forces, Central Law Enforcement Agencies and Armed Forces to assist them with Modernization Goals, provide the agencies and forces with the latest Advanced Tactical Equipment and other Technology Upgradation. The company also gives Training and Post Sales Service Support as well as assists in integrating newer technologies within the agencies.
